Founded in 2008, the Mississippi Association of Gang Investigators (MAGI) includes Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Court System Professionals whose primary investigative responsibilities include the identification and prosecution of crimes related to gang activity.
The MAGI Mission is to promote the rapid collection, analyzation, exchange, and dissemination of information concerning gang related incidents, suspects, and intelligence among gang professionals.
MAGI coordinate efforts among gang investigators with a view towards an extensive and rapid dissemination of information concerning gang-related incidents, suspects, and investigations.
MAGI support legislation that reduces the occurrence of gang-related crimes, tougher mandatory sentencing, lengthier sentences for violent gang offenders or cases involving three or more offenders.
MAGI encourage the development of new tactics assisting investigators to identify and apprehend gang members suspected of crimes; in addition, cooperates with other partner agencies developing cutting-edge investigative strategies, while providing training to all interested agencies and citizens.
MAGI can provide statistical information to our members and briefings to our communities on street gangs, problems in school, violence in the community, drug distribution and use, etc.
MAGI was formed with intent to decrease the presence of street gangs in the state, and continued gathering intel on any hate groups or organized criminal operation that threatens the safety and security of the citizens of the Great State of Mississippi.
